Training for all ages, as little as $20 hourly, per person!! Call us, we will come!!
Welcome. With open arms, we boldly stand proud to introduce the newly "reinvented" Odyssey Human Services and Development, LLC. (Est. 2004).
About the Founder, A.Dianne Watson....Following high school at an early age of 17, she was employed by, and held to the bosom of the U.S. Federal Government as a Clerk for the F.B.I. It was during the infant stage of her career. Following that short-lived federal appointment, she accepted an Educational Aide position at Mannheim American High School in Mannheim, Germany. The timing of both positions was riddled with an era that was confusing, interesting, challenging, and most difficult. It was during the time when Affirmative Action, (Executive Order 11246) had faced a decade of focus on meeting racial quotas. Hence, Affirmative Action was often the determining factor and added weight for a person of color to secure meaningful employment. The Act was embraced by many, while rejected and criticized by others. While Affirmative Action remains controversial in today's society, and in American politics, we must take a closer look.
Fairness is not all about quotas, nor is it about grouping, but about seeing, accepting, and including other individuals, regardless of differences. Fairness is not all about equality, but equity. In short, equality is generic, equal perhaps, but group focused, while equity is individual, focused, adaptable, and fair.
The greatest inspiration and motivation behind the vision of Odyssey Human Services and Development is the passion to help other humans to coexist. Her qualifications evolve from 26 years experience as a Paralegal, a BA in Criminal Justice, and subsequently, attending the University of Maryland with focus on studies in Anthropology and Social Services. While attending, she earned her Professional Certification in Diversity Awareness. Hence, she have the tools, skills, and knowledge to coach, teach, and lead.
We strongly believe in planting seeds of diversity and inclusion and offers just the right workshops for children of all ages, (Pre-K to 17). In the adult world, allow us to minimize your personal and organizations' social and equality deficit. We guarantee to bring a renewed atmosphere and greater sense of problematic awareness in ageism, racism, individuality, diversity, and culture differences. We work, meet and live among other individuals who are different and we as humans are granted opportunities of learning new ways of doing things. However, far too often we are guilty of consciously and unconsciously committing gross errors of forfeiting those same opportunities by prejudging, stereotyping, and making unfair decisions.

Committing to improve humans' co-existence – it’s a "big one" that will take a lot of patience and dedication. We are reshaping the minds of others, from Pre-K to Seniors. We, as humans are sometimes guilty of unconscious bias, making unintended offensive remarks, and most often, prejudging other humans without causes or warranty. The best way to overcome unconscious biases is to become aware of them and taking the steps to allow change.
No amount of outer technology, no amount of computers, biotechnology and nanotechnology is going to stop the continuation of warfare and racism and environmental destruction. What's called for on the Earth at this time is really a change of heart ... the question is really not the future of humanity, but the presence of eternity.
Human equity is a multifaceted concept that embraces the goal of eliminating inequitable life outcomes based on a person’s physical make up and life choices. To achieve this goal, society must see with un-bias sight and be willing to discuss unfair, discriminatory structures and processes inherent in societal institutions like the criminal justice, healthcare, and education.
Racial and justice equity is a subject that often attached to silence until we are forced to deal with it as a result of an unfortunate event. We teach you to see, recognize, inequitable life outcomes based on a person’s race or culture. To achieve this goal, society must affect systemic change, The unfair, discriminatory structures and processes inherent in societal institutions like the criminal justice, healthcare, and educational systems.
Young people want to learn, they are thirsty for knowledge, they want to understand and remember. The main thing is to teach them where not to go. Oppression, not to go; dictatorship, not to go; racism and prejudice, absolutely not to go. This is a moral plan [for society].— Elie Wiesel
